Holiday Ideas - Japan

Holiday Ideas - Japan

Yoyogi Park - Tokyo

If you're thinking of bringing your kids to Japan for the upcoming school holidays, here are some tips! Japan is an amazing country with so much to offer, from beautiful landscapes to rich history and culture.

If you're interested in history, Kyoto and Osaka are must-visits, while Okinawa is great for a tropical getaway and Sapporo for winter fun.

In Tokyo, don't miss the Tsukiji Market for fresh seafood and street food, and explore the bustling streets of Shibuya and Shinjuku. You should also visit historic temples like Senso-ji and Meiji Shrine, and experience modern culture at Tokyo Disneyland or the Ghibli Museum. Take short walks from train stations to beautiful locations like Yoyogi Park, Ueno Park, or Imperial Castle.

If you have time, consider exploring other cities like Osaka and Kyoto. In Kyoto, visit the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. You can also stay in a traditional ryokan and experience the local culture.

For accommodations , consider staying in an apartment or ryokan, which can be a more immersive experience. However, keep in mind that hotel rooms in Japan can be tiny, so it's worth considering an apartment with more space.

When it comes to food , try some of the local street food like takoyaki and okonomiyaki, and don't miss the chance to try some wagyu beef. And for transportation, consider getting a JR pass, which can be cheaper than taking taxis.

Lastly, think about whether you prefer a free and easy trip or a guided tour. Free and easy gives you more flexibility, but guided tours can be less hassle. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you and your kids will have an amazing time in Japan!
