Selected Learning Outcomes for Primary 1 Math Papers (2013)

Fadilah has 18 stamps. She gave John, Steven and Thomas each an equal number of stamps. Pupils are to find out the number of stamps that John receives.

Alvin has 12 burgers. He divides them into 4 equal groups. Pupils have to find out how many burgers  there are in each group.

Shawn has 20 toy helicopters in his shop. He places 2 planes on each shelf. Pupils should calculate how many shelves he uses.

A given diagram shows 8 fishes with 4 in each of two tanks. Pupils are to complete the division sentence showing a number divided by another number giving a final number.

Uncle George has 15 parrots. He places 5 parrots in each cage. Pupils are to find out how many cages he will need.

Lily wants to put 16 apples equally into 4 bags. Pupils are to circle the four bags in the diagram showing the 16 apples and find the number of apples she can put into each bag.

Ken has 8 comic books. Toby has 10 comic books. They decide to share the comic books equally between themselves. Pupils are to circle the comic books use division formula to find out the number of comic books each boy will get.

There are 14 strawberries. Mrs. Wishy-Washy puts them equally into 7 bowls. Students have to circle the strawberries and used the division formula to show how to find the number of strawberries there are in each bowl.

Pupils are to look at the numbers in the four boxes and write down the smallest number and the number that is greater than 68 but less than 86.

Students are to circle the ladybirds in a diagram into groups of 3 and write down how many groups of three there are.

A diagram shows 5 boxes with numbers in a certain pattern. Students are to determine the numbers in the second and last box.

Mr. Tan went to a shop to buy the toaster, rice cooker and hair blower.  The price of each item is given in a diagram. Students are to find out the items he had bought if he spent $64. They also have to find out how much more item B cost than item C.

The fish in a diagram are put equally into 2 fish bowls. A fish died in each fish bowl. Students are to indicate how many fish there are in each fish bowl now.

Samy wants to buy the soccer ball shown in the given picture. He has 3 ten-dollar notes and 3 five-dollar notes in his wallet. The price of the ball is $45. Students are to advise if he has enough money to buy the ball.
